6 Lake, Hole in One from the Black Tees

Assistant Golf Course Superintendent Adam Gordon gets a hole in one on #6 Lake course from the Black Tees. Was it luck or the lessons from the PGA staff, or maybe a combination of the two--regardless-- getting a hole in one on #6 Lake from the Championship tees is a great accomplishment. A celebration at the bar added to the thrill of the shot afterwards.

NC Women's Amateur Golf Tournament

Trace hosted another great golf tournament. In June of 2007, Carolina Trace Country Club hosted the North Carolina Women's Amateur Golf Tournament.
Excerpts from http://www.ncwga.com/: "Maggie Simons of Raleigh, NC took her two shot lead heading into the final round and never looked back. Simons who is a senior at Wake Forest University finished 5-shots ahead of Katie Brenny also of Raleigh. Ironically, Brenny attended and played at Wake Forest University as well. "I just tried to maintain a steady round. No one in my pairing was going low so I was a little worried about some of the other players but I was able to keep it together and I am very happy to have won this championship again." Simons won this championship in 2005 when it was held at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC. Patty Moore of Charlotte, NC won the Senior title and Tatum Briele of New Bern won the junior title after winning on the 2nd hole of sudden death over Amanda D'Ostroph of Whispering Pines.Bibbi Furberg of Advance, NC won the Super Senior trophy, and Peggy Hall of Belmont won the runner-up trophy."
